家電ネットワークアプリを自作するための開発プラットフォーム
Kadecotはネット上につながれたさまざまな家電をコントロールするAndroidアプリ用の開発プラットフォームです。アプリ自体のデザインもカスタマイズ可能で、キャラクターとの会話を楽しみながら、家電を操作するなど、これまでにない家電のユーザーインターフェースを実現します。

Kadecotには次のような特徴があります。
- Android上で動作します。
- 複数の家電を同時に操作することも可能です。
- リモコンを自分で作ることもできます。
- ストーリーゲームを作ることもできます。擬人化に最適です。
- 言語仕様は独特のものですが、JavaScriptを用いて細かな処理を追加することができます。
Android™ マーケットで無償公開されているKadecot [公開実験版]には、萌家電やキャリモなど、市販の家電を動作させる様々なアプリが含まれています。将来的には個人が制作したものをネットで共有し、自分用にカスタマイズして利用できるようなサーバも構築する予定です。

A development platform for appliance network applications
With applications designs easily customized, you can use appliances while “conversing” with their characters, a type of user interface not seen before. Kadecot is a platform for developing Android applications that can link and control various home electronics products on a network. Among key features, Kadecot can:
- run on Android
- operate multiple appliances at the same time
- make a remote controller of its own
- make story games, a feature suited to personification
- fine-tune the language specification with JavaScript
The demonstration version of Kadecot, which is freely available with AndroidTM applications, includes a number of applications to run home appliances, such as MoeKaden and Carimo. Sony CSL is planning to introduce a server that will allow users to exchange original applications on a network, from which they can choose for customization for personal use.
