2020年12月17日、京都研究室のオープニングシンポジウムがオンライン開催されました。
「ゆたかさ」の意味を考える研究室
シンポジウムの始めには京都研究室の概要ビデオで、研究室への思いや内部の様子などを簡単にご紹介しました。
続いて北野所長からのご挨拶では、立ち上げの裏話等を踏まえつつも、京都ならではの展開への期待が寄せられました。
続く第一部の活動紹介では、京都研究室に所属するディレクターの暦本副所長、竹内研究員、シナパヤ研究員の3名が、自身の研究を踏まえながら「ゆたかさとはなにか」それぞれの考えや思いをご紹介しました。
続く第二部のパネルセッションでは、京都研究室の3名に茂木シニアリサーチャーを加えた4名でトークを開催。
「ゆたかさ」とは何か。バーチャル化/リモートワーク化が進む今、京都研究室というリアルの場を持つことにどんな意味があるのか。季節の移り変わりや自然など、京都で改めて感じている価値等を踏まえながら、人間は何を「ゆたか」と感じるのかディスカッションが行われました。
後半では寄せられた質問を軸に、コミュニケーションの充足はどのように得られるのか、これからの研究のあり方、等についてディスカッションを重ね、京都研究室の今後の展開への期待を膨らませました。
シンポジウムは大勢の方にご視聴いただき、多くのご意見・ご質問をリアルタイムにいただき大盛況のうちに終了いたしました。是非、これからの京都研究室の活動をご注目いただけますと幸いです。

On December 17, 2020, the opening ceremony for the Kyoto Lab was held online.
A Laboratory for Considering the Meaning of the fulfillment of human values
At the beginning of the symposium, a video overview of the Kyoto Laboratory was shown, briefly introducing the thoughts behind the laboratory and its inner workings.
Next, Dr. Kitano talked about the background to the establishment of the lab and his expectations for the development of Kyoto as a unique place.
In the first part of the symposium, Deputy Director Rekimoto, Researcher Takeuchi, and Researcher Sinapaya introduced their thoughts and ideas on what the Meaning of "the fulfillment of human values" , based on their own research.
In the second part of the session, a panel discussion was held with three members of the Kyoto Lab and senior researcher Mogi.
What is the meaning of "the fulfillment of human values"? What is the meaning of having a real place like Kyoto Laboratory in this age of virtualization and remote work? They discussed what people perceive as "the fulfillment of human values," taking into account the changing seasons, nature, and other values that they feel again in Kyoto.
In the latter part of the session, based on the received questions, they discussed how communication can be fulfilled and how research should be carried out in the future, raising their expectations for the future development of the Kyoto Laboratory.
The symposium was a great success with many people watching and asking many questions in real time. We hope that you will pay attention to the activities of Kyoto Laboratory in the future.
