"Simplicity Is Complexity Resolved," said Constantin Brancusi, one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th century and a pioneer of modernism. This philosophy resonates deeply with my research, as I am captivated by the art of unraveling intricate problems to create solutions that are both elegant and impactful. This is especially true in the realm of information and communication, where the need to foster transparent, healthy, and constructive social dialogue is increasingly urgent.
What excites me most is the dual focus of understanding the dynamics of online information—how it spreads, distorts, and influences opinion formation—through the lens of complex networks. Addressing issues like misinformation, biases in news reporting and consumption, disagreement, and polarization is undoubtedly challenging, but the potential for positive societal impact is immense. It is deeply fulfilling to develop tools that help individuals navigate the intricate media landscape with greater clarity and confidence.
