ソニーCSLは、超分散型でダイナミックに電力の送配電が可能となるオープンエネルギーシステムの研究を行なっています。オープンエネルギーシステムの実環境における実証を行うために、沖縄科学技術大学院大学（OIST）、沖創工（株）、ソニーエナジー・デバイス（株）、ソニービジネスオペレーションズ(株) 、ソニー（株）と共同で、オープンエネルギーシステムリサーチセンターをOISTキャンパス内に設置致しました。2013年・14年度において、OISTの教員宿舎22棟に太陽電池、蓄電池を設置し、各戸を直流グリッドで結んで、電力の融通実験を行います。

Sony CSL is investigating open energy systems (OES) that is capable of dynamically distributing electrical power using renewable energy sources in distributed environment. The Center of Open Energy Research was established at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) in collaboration with OIST, Okisokou Co. Ltd., Sony Energy Devices Corporation, Sony Business Operations Inc., and Sony Corporation. Solar panels and battery servers will be installed in the 22 OIST faculty houses and connected each other via
direct current (DC) bus to form an intelligent and distributed power grid by 2014.
